Flushing – Marine Air CMCM7KC System

Steve -

Excellent site – great for us DIY Guys…..seeking advice. I own a 2001 Bayliner 2655 with a Marine Air CMCM7KC fresh water pick up system – side discharge. Knock on wood (head) I have never expereinced any major issues w/ the A/C. In reading various posts, I am thinking I need to clean my system for marine growth and scaling. From a DIY perspective, will the Muriatic Acid method work for my type of system? What are the effects of the acid with regards to rubber hoses, plastic and water pumps? The last thing I want is to damage internal parts of the pump and/ or lines. Thanks!
